I remember that, at one point, we had over twenty people in out hospital room at one time. Don’t be scared to tell people that you don’t want them there because this is your time and your baby and your wife. Labor is very stressful and tiring for you and your wife, but more so for your wife. You have been waiting for nine months for this day and you don’t have to share it with people that you don’t want.

But if your wife wants some extra help in the delivery room, so be it, but remember that you should be the main support for her through this. From what I have head from friends, it is really easy to be pushed around and moved out of the way by a couple of crazy mothers in there. They have already been through it and want to get in there and give the best advice.

If you ask me, I wouldn’t want anybody in there except my wife, myself, and the doctors, that is it. It’s going to get very crazy and in a matter of minutes and you don’t need the stress of others in the room. Leave that extra stress out of the room for your wife and your baby.
